About Uplift: Since 1987, UPLIFT San Diego has provided free homeless and student services for those in San Diego’s urban communities. Our mission is to improve community equity with free services to San Diego's most vulnerable, help house our homeless neighbors and academically advance low income students, lifting all to their highest potential.

ABOUT KIDS AT HEART:
​
Our free tutoring program serves low-income students grades K-12 who face barriers to academic success. These barriers come in the form of poverty and the struggle of learning English as a second language.
The personal attention that our students get from one-on-one tutoring helps them excel academically, graduate high school, and pursue a journey that will help them break free from the cycle of poverty.
ABOUT THE HOME TEAM:

The mission of Home Team is to mobilize a Volunteer Advocate Team to work with those experiencing homelessness, currently in motels or temporary shelters. and their case managers to facilitate housing placement and stability.
​
Housing placement often occurs faster and is more successful long term with our Volunteer Advocate support.
ABOUT TRIPLE CROSS:
The California ID card is the essential document for any experiencing homelessness to receive housing & supportive services, re-enter the job market & access healthcare.
Triple Cross provides free fee waivers, application assistance and round trip transportation to the DMV for CA IDs.
Champions for Change are those who love our community and understand how people’s lives are changed by UPLIFT's programs and want to help support that. Because our programs have alway been, and will continue to be free for all, we rely heavily on supporters, such as yourself, to help close the gap between the cost of our programs and the support we are able to provide for the must vulnerable in our community.

How to become a Champion for Change:
​

During each winter season, November through December, Choose an UPLIFT program you wish to support (Home Team, Kids at Heart, Swimming Upstream, and/or Triple Cross).

Choose at which level you would like to support that program (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Custom).

Donate online and receive "Champion for Change" benefits based on your level of giving.

ABOUT SWIMMING UPSTREAM: Swimming Upstream is designed to help young women navigate the rough waters of teen life through inspirational empowerment & life skills sessions over 10 weeks.
Since program launch 15 years ago, program participants have achieved 100% High School Graduation rate!
