Tutor Application Form: Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Kids At Heart program to make a positive impact on a student's life! The Kids At Heart Program provides tutoring and mentoring services for low-income students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. Clients can receive services through virtual services or at partnering tutoring sites. Volunteers commit to tutoring one student for a minimum of one hour a week during the academic school year. 

Step 1. Completing an Application
All new and returning tutors must complete this Kids at Heart application EACH SCHOOL YEAR (approximately 10 minutes).

Step 2. Scheduling an Interview
If you are a new tutor, you must schedule an interview with the program manager that will follow up on your application via email. If you are a returning tutor, you do not need to schedule an interview.

Step 3. Kids at Heart Orientation
All new and returning tutors must attend at least one Kids at Heart Orientation class (2023 dates to be announced).

VOLUNTEER ELIGIBILITY: UPLIFT collects basic eligibility information required of Youth Service Organizations. All information is confidential and will only be used to determine suitability to volunteer as a tutor for the Kids At Heart Program.

UPLIFT conducts criminal background checks on all volunteers. Are you required to register as a sex offender, have you ever been convicted of murder, or have you been convicted of any other felony within the past 3 years?

DEMOGRAPHICS: All demographic information collected is only used in aggregate for reporting purposes at the request of grants and funders. UPLIFT, and by extension partnering organizations, shall not discriminate against volunteers, clients, and staff on the basis of formal education, experience, race, color, national origin, limited English proficiency, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity or expression, political affiliation, marital or parental status, or military service.
